Insurers and Startups
Insurers increase x3 their participation in startups and have proved to believe in Insurtechs. Their investment by money raised reached the highest in the last decade.
Highest participation in investments and number of deals in the last decade
Insurers’ participation in investment rounds in startups has reached its highest point in the last ten years, both in Insurtechs and in Non Insurtechs, nearing the $18B mark.
This represents an increase of 174.85% when compared to last year. In other words, insurers are investing in innovative models at double the rate than in 2020 and over one hundred times what they invested ten years ago.
However, it must be noted that the growth rate is largely credited to investments in non Insurtech startups, which have a growth of 249%, while Insurtechs grew by just 32%.
